Smart Thoughts

Image
Greg and I went to Wal-Mart the other day and saw our first Smart Car. I thought it was adorable! It’s like a toy car, which is partly a concern given the rate of car accidents and the Smart Car would crush like a bug. Did you know that the Smart Car has two motors? An electric and a gasoline powered motor, which some might say just means more parts to break and need repair! That said, the gasoline motor comes in handy, because when the battery charge is low, it will start automatically and charges the battery! The joys of a hybrid ~ never needs to be plugged into an outlet. Pro and Con ~ it’s a complex system. It’s good in that, it’s new technology and green. The Con ~ the computer that controls the car still suffers from failures ~ more time in the shop and larger repair bills. Definitely a pro ~ saves on gas! And at the rate gas prices are going, that’s a big thing. The Con ~ the car isn’t exactly cheap. Me, personally ~ I’d buy one if I had the money. I like the size and hey, paral

Greg’s request ~ I’m blogging about this, because it was my oopsy. Did you know that jury duty summons are being served now? It used to be through the mail only. Now they knock on your door and "you’re served." I didn’t forget the date, but I don’t drive to the Westbank. The roads over there might as well be on a different planet as far as I’m concerned. Greg was sweet enough to say he would drop me off and pick me up at the courthouse. We woke up early and Greg had to deal with me being grumpy (never consider me a morning person). When we got there, he pulled over a bit from the building because of construction and I walked the rest of the block, not very far. When I finally found the room (much nicer than what it was pre-Katrina), I learned (along with another group of people) that "if we had called, we would know it had been rescheduled." That’s right, all that drive out, waking up early and Doohhh, none of it was necessary. I called Greg on his cell phone (wonde

Greg's Post

The following is written by Greg: ************* Whos on first? Obviously Fuzzy Wuzzy. I sincerely hope that everyone reading this is familiar with the children’s song Fuzzy Wuzzy. This is directly from Wikipedia … "Fuzzy Wuzzy " is a song written in 1944 by Al Hoffman , Milton Drake and Jerry Livingston . Its chorus is a well-known rhyme: Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he? Ok SO……. My intended Aleta and I were… for some unknown reason discussing this song. OH YEAH!! I remember now… its because I cut my hair very low to my scalp… and my hair is very fine so she rubs it and calls me … Fuzzy … well you get the picture… So today we are driving home from dinner and she brings it up again…. And after we both say each verse she says…. Any more… I said that those arent the words! She says “It seems like there should be the words “Any more” at the end of that so it would (syllabically) balance…. . I retorted

Sunflower Power

My grandmother, Maw Maw, has a green thumb. She loves to plant things. At 82 years old, she's still going strong ~ driving long distances to visit and enjoying company. She helped my parents plant a garden. When Greg and I saw the vine growing, Greg asked my parents, "Are you trying to grow a Bean Stalk, Jack?" Hehe. They have three sunflower stalks. Two have huge blooms. We're standing under the shortest stalk and Greg is holding it down to get into the picture!
