My blog might be misrepresentative of our child.  I post a lot of happy smiles and it's true, in the morning, Gregory is all smiles and joy!  It helps me, considering I'm soooo not a morning person.  Gregory makes me smile :) But my blog pictures aren't everything... and my husband, if you spoke with him, might make you think we had the perfect baby.  It's easy to focus on the smiles, because we love our little boy.  But the fact is, he cries.  A lot... in the evening... when energy levels are low.  And I want a nap as much as the baby does, but he fights it. We try to wear out Gregory in the walker (yes, he can use it on his tippy toes)... and we do tummy time, which he can't stand.  He can roll to his side and then to his stomach, but his arm gets  caught under him. Gregory did eventually get that arm out from under him, but as you can see.. oh boy, he wasn't happy about it! He was a grump.  My husband asked me, "Wha...

I'm always on the look out for an easy recipe and I like utilizing my slow cooker.  Here's a recipe that I found, only I'd suggest to add bell peppers and celery to the mix, more chicken and less of the cream of chicken.  My husband liked it, but he added more chicken and he suggested the bell peppers as well.  We did have it another night and it tasted better, probably gave all the flavors time to blend. In a crock pot, cook chicken with a can (or half a can) of Cream of Chicken. Cook Zatarains Yellow Rice or Garlic and Herb (or really, any of the Zat's equivalent) - cook according to box instructions Add to chicken, along with corn and top with cheese (but we didn't do that and my husband said it didn't need the cheese). Eh, it was Ok.  I told my husband that I wouldn't cook it again, but he looked disappointed.  Maybe I'll give it another shot.

WARNING:  At the end of this post, I share TMI. Greg starts the song off, "Rubber Ducky you're the one."  and I join in... "You make bath time so much fun!"  Lol.  We don't know the rest of the words, but we sing it for our son. Our son has long limbs and graduated from the sink a while back... but he's still not ready for an adult tub.  I did find a smaller plastic tub at Babies R Us.  Love this next picture, chilling out and looking at the rubber ducky :) When I sent this next picture to my Mom, she asked, "Did you put the baby that way in the tub?"  I answered, "No.  He started to lean forward and we let him.  Normally he doesn't like tummy time at all, but in the water it is Ok." We found that our son will start sliding on the tub, so we bought one of those mats that go in a tub and use that.  When our son graduates to the adult tub, the mat will be moved there too. My husband's good friend, Danny, has season tickets to see the Saints play football.  He has great seats on the club level.  I've never been to the Super Dome and never seen the Saints play, so it was a real treat when Danny gave us his two tickets to the first pre-season game! When I look into my baby’s eyes, I wonder what he is thinking.  What is he soaking in and how is it already shaping his world and personality?  Sometimes it feels like a baby is just a “blob” but at other times, it feels as though babies hold the secrets to the universe and as they adjust to our world, the secrets disappear as they adapt to our world.  It’s that “old soul” look in the eyes of newborns. The other day, there was a television show on babies, so you know my husband and I were glued.  The topic was, “Are babies born with morals or are they learned?”  Did anyone else watch this show?  I’d love to know your thoughts.
