Birthday Gift from Gregory to Us

Yesterday was our son's first birthday party... and instead of us giving him a gift, he gave us a gift!  (But I'll share that at the end of the post via video :)

After Greg got off of work, we went to Chuck E Cheese.  I've never been there, so it was cute to see how they have it set up.  I can picture bringing our son there again when he gets older.  While we were there, Daddy ate pizza (Mommy opted for the salad bar) and Baby had the bottle.

Then the mouse/rat Chuck E came out with a birthday cupcake.  Gregory kept smiling at the mouse.  Daddy helped with the candle.

And the cupcake?  Gregory went to town!  I have pictures below and a video of him too :)  But the REAL gift - was from Gregory later in the afternoon... keep reading below....

When we got home, it was still lovely and just enough light in the day, so I took Gregory for a stroll in the neighborhood.  Daddy went to take a nap.  Gregory was playing in the front room.  In the middle of the room.  With no furniture near him.  He went from sitting to standing with no assistance!!!  Before this, he needed someone helping him up or he would cling to the furniture to pull himself up.

I wasn't quick enough with the camera to get a picture or video.  But I kept the video on, just knowing Gregory would stand up on his own again!  I took a total of 6 videos and on the 6th one - he Stood Up!!!  You have to watch until the end - no help, no furniture.  And now.... I'm picturing him running through the house - OH My!  Thank you for the birthday gift, Son.  Love you!

Thanks for sharing the day.

He's on his way, Aleta. Give him 3 to 6 months and you'll be wishing he'd slow down.

He is so close to walking! That is just so cute.

I thought he used great restraint on the cupcake. Some kids would of had it in their ears in the first 20 seconds.
