7 months old
Yesterday my son made 7 months. I was on the verge of tears. How silly is that... to think he is on the other half of making a year old. My husband said, "I looked at pictures of him when he was first born and his head was SO SMALL! He's grown a lot." My little boy isn't so little any more, but he'll always be my baby :)
Dear Son,
Your Daddy and Mommy have noticed that you grow in different ways. First you get a little belly on you, then your legs get longer and the belly goes away. Then you get a little belly on you and your arms get longer. It's as though your body stores the energy for limb growth, while your torso continues to lengthen.
You are only 7 months old but already fitting into 12 month cloths. Not the width of the 12 months, but the length! You know how to roll from your tummy to your back, but you fake it like you can't and give me this look.
Daddy thinks you are going to skip crawling altogether. It used to be that you liked sitting assisted, but now even that won't do. If we sit you up, you arch your back and stiffen your legs. You want to stand.
The walker is getting a lot of good mileage on it too :)
On the day that you made 7 months, we celebrated your grandmother's (Oma) birthday too.
Your flexibility is pretty amazing, my sweet boy. You make me laugh when you suck on your toes!
I'm going to share with you a picture that was taken a few months before Mommy and Daddy got married. I didn't want to take the picture. In fact, I got teary-eyed upset about it and it ripped my heart apart.. but I was with my family and the Disney photographer insisted on the picture as it was a standard... we were told to hold out our arms as if holding a baby and the photographer would put in a cartoon character for the baby. The only thing I could think of at the time was, "This is the only child we will have, a make-believe, because we can't have children."
Looking at the picture, it still makes my heart hurt for the past pains, but.... it goes away quickly, because your smiles light up all the hurt and fill my world with joy. You were our unexpected, unplanned for, couldn't have dreamed it possible, incredible surprise, gift from God.
You're such a Blessing! Thank you for being in our lives. I never imagined how the world could spin and change with the joy of a child.
Love Always,
Mommy

Each day it seems you find a new expression to try out and give Mommy and Daddy the giggles.... Attitude Much??

I've been looking at pictures of Cheeks when she was first born too, and I can't believe how much she has grown either. It's totally crazy!
