Feeding Time

At the 4 month doctor appointment, we were given the "go ahead" with feeding our son baby food.  I know Gregory likes apples and pears, but I'm trying to get him more into veggies first.  So far, he has taken a liking to squash and sweet potatoes... and right now, he is tolerating carrots.

When he sees the spoon, his mouth goes wide open!

It's definitely a messy and time consuming process.  At first he used his tongue to scoop the baby food out of his mouth, but he's starting to get used to the process of taking the food in.  Like anyone else, I think it's the experience of trying something new that our baby enjoys.  I'm sure there will be more "messy" pictures shared in the future :)

Babies tend to really like the veggies that have a sweet taste. The really messy pictures will happen when they try to gag down the pureed meat products. The fun is just beginning.

He looks to be quite happy so far.
Too cute! My sister is also starting solids with my niece. Because of her allergy issues they waited until 6 months and started very slowly. So far they've tried sweet potatoes (success!) and avocado (no go!)

We also got the go ahead at the 4 month appt to give solids to the boys.... but I know how much work it is, so we are waiting until 6 months :)

Cute! I especially love the before and after pictures. :) We got the go-ahead, but are waiting on solids until 6 months.
Skip the pureed meats and cut up itty bitty pieces. They are that nasty.

I remember trying to feed C mango and he spit it out!
