Slugs and Snails

.... and puppy-dogs' tails, that's what little boys are made of... or so the saying goes.

Though I know my husband absolutely can't stand slugs, especially as the gardens attract slugs and my husband likes to walk barefoot outside...  When he comes inside with a certain expression (just ate a lemon look), I know he stepped on a slug.  Ewww.

When we shared the gender reveal party news (BOY!) on Facebook, I was surprised when quite a few people responded with, "Boys are so much easier!"

One of our friends explained it this way, "Boys break things, but Girls are more expensive."

Though someone else pointedly disagreed, "Boys are expensive too, because they like computer games when they get older.  Boys and their toys."

Then again, these days, Girls are equally hooked on those expense computer games and phones too!

My cousin texted this to me:  "If you can stop boys from fulfilling their biological need to maim themselves as preschoolers then they usually bond well with both parents.  Girls (not all) tend to battle more with their mothers as they try to stretch their wings.  Boys are physical work, Girls are mental work."

Either way, Boy or Girl, children are precious.

I was just curious as to the repeated "boys are so much easier" comment.

My son is the one who will ask you to buy him something EVERY SINGLE DAY. His sister is satisfied with whatever you buy her.

I wouldn't say easier but I would say different. I had both a boy and a girl and they are both so fun in their own way. I think some of the differences between children have more to do with if they are the oldest or youngest child.

You will LOVE being a parent. Children are just the best. Even when they frustrate you or anger you, you just won't believe how much you can love your child.
A son! I have a son! And I just LOVE having him. I would have of course love any daughter I would have but I am over the moon to have a son!!

I would have to say that as a mother son are easier. They dont pull away to prove their man hood later on etc. BUT each genderand every child has their difficulties
Congrats on your little blue bundle to be! My boy was much tougher as an infant, but has been much easier ever since.

I've heard that so many times too. I only have boys, so I can't compare it, but I do think that boys are physically harder (comparing from when I was a teacher).

I don't know because I just have the girl but I just asked my sister who has 3 boys and 2 girls and she said boys are easier as they get older. However, as you say this little baby is going to be the most precious gift. It is very exciting, even to me all these miles away in another country. Love babies...as for slugs. Now what is that Nursery Rhyme?

What are little boys made of? Slugs and snails And puppy-dogs' tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice And everything nice, That's what little girls are made of.

So Greg better get used to those slugs again now you are having a little boy, lol

Kids are hard. Period.
I have a unique bond with all three of my kids. I love them all the same but different. Make sense? Of course not! lol

Well I only have boys but they are younger...I will say from observation that girls can get more attitude and sass at an early age more than the boys I have been around.

i agree with cindy (dysfunctional mom). i have one of each and i cant say that either one was easier than the other and my relationship with each one is very different, because THEY are different.
