Happy Halloween

Wishing you and yours a Happy and Safe Halloween!

The picture is from my Sweet 16 Birthday Party (years and years ago).

Rob is the vampire in the picture and Dad is the clown and yes, you guessed it - I was the witch.
(Thanks Mom and Dad for making it a great memory!)
Edited to add: Greg sent me this link where you can "carve your own pumpkin" on the Internet.

Aleta,

From your pictures and those of Rob that you have posted recently, it was easy to recognize you and Rob in this great picture.

We dont have any festival like this where you dress up as ghosts and vampires etc. What happens after you all dress up ? Do you guys go somewhere ?

Am just going to check out the pumpkin carving thing which Greg suggests......

I'm glad ya'll are enjoying the picture. It makes me smile to look back on it (You're right, Vicki - it does mean even more, to know what my parents did to make it special.)

Oh, Kat, thank you! When Greg saw a picture of me from college graduation, he asked, "How old are you then? Is that high school graduation, you look like your 16!" I laughed and said, "NO, that was College Graduation." The older I get, the more I'm pleased with not looking my age. Lol.

Tickled that ya'll are enjoying the pumpkin carving thing on the Internet. Fun, isn't it?

Hi Ugich Konitari ~ Plenty of times for Halloween after you dress up, kids (and adults who are kids at heart), will go from door to door and knock on a neighbor's or stranger's door and say, "Trick or Treat." The person who answers the door gives candies and treats. It used to be that people would give homemade treats, but when I was a little girl that stopped. People didn't trust what strangers were putting in kid's Halloween bags! Such a shame.

But for this picture, it was my Halloween/Birthday party. Friends came dressed up in various costumes. We had fruit punch and put dry ice in the punch so that a white cloud flowed off of it, along with other various spooky, eerie things for food.

Games were played for entertainment, such as "Puffy Pumpkin." The guys mostly participated in that. What you do is put a marshmellow in your mouth and say the words, "puffy pumpkin" without swallowing the marshmellow. You keep adding a marshmellow until you can't say the word and whoever is the last is the winner. Silly things like that. Yes, even 16 year olds like to play kid's games.

Another game was the Balloon. You put a balloon between you and another person, then you were supposed to hug the other person until the balloon popped. Nobody could get the balloon to pop, so they insisted that my parents try it. Well, they did and Dad took his lighter out to make the balloon pop. Too funny.

There was no alcohol, no misbehaving or acting inappropriately. Just good fun. My parents were there and dressed up and my friends liked them being there. Good memories. Thanks for asking!

This year Greg wanted to give out coupons to get a free Frosty at Wendy's. I said, "Ohhh, but there will be little kids and they will want candy, not a piece of paper." So, we bought a bag of candy too.
