Gemstone Meaning
I love working with gemstones. To see what nature created and be some small part of fixing it into a design ~ it's a satisfying feeling.
I've heard of people who believe gemstones represent various aspects of life. Recently, I read an article of such and listed a few gemstones and their meaning. To share...
Amazonite: prosperity
Crystal quartz: harmony
Jasper: grounding
Lapis lazuli: intuition
Onyx: balance
Pearl: purity
Peridot: health and wealth
Rhodochrosite: love
Serpentine: clarity
Sodalite: wisdom
Tourmaline: strength
Turquoise: peace

first, thank you for stopping by the blue bicycle and leaving me such a stunning comment .... this is really the true joy of writing: the work, which is an extension of one's self, is then read and 'absorbed' by another - someone unfamiliar with the story .... and between the two, a new thing is created - even more wondrous than the original ....
ummm... so much for keeping this simple. what i mean to say is that i had not ever consciously thought of him asking for 'my eyes' in terms of the windows of my soul ...
yet, now that i reflect on those events: yes, he did take a piece of my soul. he was drowning. he needed life to hold onto. And i, being young and full of the passion of youth - gave freely - in the sense that yes, love blinded me.
i do not regret what i gave, for it was with love and for love and in response to the suffering of another. however, i will say this: now that i am 2 decades older ... wiser but more wary - would i give as freely now as i had then? after a life filled with joys, heartaches, sorrows - the whole darn mix? i'm not sure.
which poorly segues into your post here on gemstones. what do you do with them? are you a jewelry designer? i like that tourmaline equals strength ... for some reason, that truly comforts me.
the bill collector allowed me to hold onto my strength ...
fascinating ...
thank you for your intuitive insights
fondly,
lady blue
I agree that poetry, when read from a new audience, comes alive in ways that you least expect. That’s the beauty of interpretation, which often leads to further inspiration.
It’s good that you have no regret. Love should not be a factor of such an emotion, even when the love is spurned, unrequited or slowly fades, because the love that was given is something of the heart and that’s never a regret.
You asked if I am a jewelry designer, not by trade, but by hobby and joy! I adore making jewelry (partly because of saving money, but more so for the satisfaction of creation). I work with semi-precious gemstones, gemstones, pearls, crystals and the like.
Yes, I think tourmaline ~ strength ~ is in you! So glad that you posted here, what a thoughtful response you have given.
Take care,
Aleta
Diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” meaning unconquerable. Given diamonds are often the gemstones in engagement rings – it suggest the eternity of love.
Emerald, not surprising with the green, represents wealth, which can be thought of not only within the monetary foundation but also in the social wealth of friendships.
Ruby is known as the “King of Gemstones” because of its color and rare find. It reflects the passion and power of life.
