Letter to my son

Dear Son,

Your school is located on the grounds of your church, which Mommy thinks is wonderful.  It's a great community.  St. Augustine's recently started a Youth Junior group.  They meet once a month on a Friday night from 6-8pm.  Daddy was so worried you would get upset with us bringing you there and not knowing many people.

The group was lead by Father AJ, Catherine Coates, other sweet ladies and members from the Youth group.  I thought it would be great - you could see children of all ages (Youth Jr is from 3yrs old to children in the 5th grade).  Having older children as good role models and learning more about church and developing a relationship with God in a fun and loving environment - perfect!

During the time that you were in the Youth Jr group, Mommy and Daddy would go get something to eat, go shopping, etc.  It gave us time to get a few things done around the house.  The first time you attended and Daddy was so worried, it was all unfounded concern - you had so much fun that you didn't want to leave!  They don't mind if you run.  There is a screen that plays songs and dancing and other tables for art, painting, coloring and they have food too.

Here are some pictures from the Youth Jr Group.

I'm thrilled that the church offers this group for children.  We are fortunate to have such a wonderful church home.

I hope you develop a personal relationship with God and open your heart to His guidance.  We say prayers every night with you.  You're doing better with the sign of the cross.  (Though you always want to do the sign of the cross with your left hand and Daddy is trying to teach you to do it with your right hand.)  We want to attend church more often, but you get frustrated about halfway through.  I understand and it's hard for you to sit still.  The Youth Jr group is a great way for you to participate in a fun way.  What a blessing!

Love Always,
Mommy

Very cute as always. I love that your church offers a way to start getting young children involved with their church. Our church had similar programs when our children were small and helped establish their connection to church throughout their childhood.

Really beautiful cake BTW.

Have a fun week.
