Winter Cold

Miserable feeling. I used to say it was a "cotton ball stuffed" feeling inside of my head with the sinus pressure. Right now it feels more like a brick than a cotton ball. I can't get an appointment with the doctor until tomorrow (and I made the appointment yesterday). I guess this bug is going around. Ugh.

Anyone have any home remedies for sinus pressure?

I know the feeling - I woke up with it yesterday morning. Sinus rinse helps (can get the cheap bottle and saline solution at drug stores)hmmm, guess I should have used this one this morning for myself :)

I notice Hall's mentho-something cough drops help open the sinuses temporarily. Warm liquids. I say all this as I wish my face did not hurt and I did not feel like falling over from the groggy feeling.

Hope you feel better soon!

I use a neti-pot 1-2 times a day and went from having multiple sinus infections/constant sinus pressure, to feeling great all the time! It is easy and as long as you use warm water it feels nice too!

Feel better!!
Netti pot...I'm with Buns Life. Its sort of freaky the first time but then it's not a big deal. Feel better!

Here is a home remedy...

Mix a cup of Olive Oil, 2 cups of Apple Juice, and 4 raisins.

Rub it on your cheeks, then take a cold shower, and sleep upside down.

Let me know if it works!

Hope you get to feeling better!

i get sinus stuff a lot---i also have mega bad allergies....im basically a mess from the neck up.

one thing that helps me is to put a heating pad as hot as is comfortable, on my nose and head---it helps to get all that gunk up there to drain downward and out.

gross i know.

hope you feel better soon!
oh nooooooo!
Ginger tea can help a little, maybe honey and lemon mixed in????

Rub Menthylatum (sp?) or Vicks Vapor Rub on cheeks, chest, nose, upper lip, and bridge of nose (carefully).

Get a washrag as hot as you can stand it and lay it across your face. Breath deeply.

Drink lots of hot tea (and of course, water ... you do not want to get dehydrated).

And always remember ~ rest is best.

Okay, I have a remedy that is wicked easy and doesn't require you to buy anything. I used to get sinus infections all the time, and when it absolutely HURT for anyone to even MOVE in the room I was in, this is the only thing that would relieve the pressure.

Boil some water. Stuff a couple of paper towels in two coffee cups. Pour a small amount of water in the cups - just enough for the paper towels to soak it up, but not to the point of dripping wet. Lay down, with your head elevated on pillows. Hold the cups over your ears (make sure the paper towels are squashed down so the boiling water on them won't burn your ears). Press in lightly, so that the steam isn't escaping. The steam rises up through your ear canals, and relieves the pressure almost instantly. Have crackers on hand, because your sinuses will drain like a mother, and it always makes me sick to my stomach.

I want to know how Holly does that?!? One ear at a time, right? I'm totally trying that next time.

I second (third?) the Neti Pot.

FEEL BETTER SOON!

Drink lots of water, tea and sleep! If it's a cold the doc can't help you.

ALSO- but you have to do this from the start: Standard Process makes an herbal antibiotic that will knock any cold or flu outta you! It's called adrographis complex. It takes like licking a foot but totally works!
