Rooster Question
After the "Happy Day" post Greg and I went to Lafrienere Park to see the roosters and chickens. I took a bunch of pictures; they are so pretty with the colors. At one point, Greg chased the roosters, caught on camera video and at another point, we're trying to figure out if it's a chicken or rooster (the white one) ~ any thoughts on this?
Afterwards, YES, we went to see a Chic Flick, "Night in Rodanthe" ~ bring the hankie, because it has potential for a tear jerker. I generally don't cry with movies, but came close at a couple of points.
Greg surprised me yet again with this wood grained music player. You can put a variety of music pieces (looks like a record) and it plays it off of bells! It will be perfect for holiday cheer.
Roda made a lovely supper for us and a pretty cake. Rob and Roda bought me a Fleur de Lis throw, perfect timing for cuddling weather! Mom and Dad bought us a new dish set, very colorful and something Greg and I picked out together, so I know he's happy with it too.
Greg's parents came over and gave a cool gift ~ a purse hanger! A woman had to design it. It's small, simple and very useful. You open up the purse hanger and it hangs your purse on the table. How wonderful! I can't stand to put my purse on the floor and it's too easy for someone to yank it off the back of a chair, this gadget (yeah, a gadget for a lady) hooks to the table and holds your purse on it!

I so want to see Nights in Rodanthe, and Mama Mia too for that matter. Both will have to wait until they are out on DVD. No way would I get hubby to a chick flick in the movie theater!
Okay, hen or rooster? It's very hard to tell from either the photo or the video. It isn't OBVIOUS that it is either. Some might think that the fact there is no huge comb on his head or big wattle hanging under his neck, it must be a hen. But wattles, combs, etc can all be very deceptive, because there are many different 'styles' - double combs, rose combs, etc. The tail isn't obvious either - could be he is either of a breed that won't have huge tall tail feathers, or he just hasn't grown them yet (too young).
However, all that being said, by watching the video, I would say it's a hen based on his behavior. Red rooster nearby is standing watch, white hen pecks around for food oblivious to anything going on around her, because that's the rooster's job.
Finally, if my comment isn't long enough already, you could look for 'spurs'. Only roosters have spurs. They are like big claws that grow out of the back of their legs, a short distance up from their feet. The older they are, the longer the spurs. Obviously a very young chicken's won't be too visible - just little nubs sticking out.

Greg is making me look bad!! :)
I don't know roosters from chickens--but they sure are pretty!
Happy Birthday!!
I can't help you with the sex of the rooster/chicken either unless it lays an egg.
Do gay roosters lay eggs?
It sounds like you had a great day though
Thank you for stopping by my blog
*In response to your comment:: I want a queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagle. They are so gosh darn cute, especially when you get a really nice colored one.

Happy Birthday!
I want a purse hanger. I usually don't take my purse in with me, because I don't want it on the floor. Plus I am always afraid I will forget it.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I wish I had a big brother (Not that having a big sister isn't great). I just get to see what a great relationship Memphis and Albany have.
