Nashville TN Vacation 2012

Image
Nashville, TN  Dec 2012 Trip My husband and I bought our hotel tickets, planning on a trip to Nashville, TN.  Then, we called my parents.  Every time my parents have gone on a vacation, they have invited us.  This time, we wanted to invite my parents.  They were happy to accept the invitation and I’m so glad they did! Because this vacation would end with the beginning of me being in the third trimester, flying to Tennessee was out of the question.  The doctors recommended plenty of stops along the way, which we did.  Imagine the conversations in the car, lots of laughter, singing and discussing where the next Cracker Barrel would be found.  Oh and baby made me giggle when he kept time (kicking) when my uncle’s jazz music was playing in the car. The first stop was to the Mississippi rest area.  It was decorated both inside the building and outside.  With three trees inside and decorations hanging from the ceiling, Gr...

Image
I love to decorate for the Christmas season.... here's a few pictures of our home: Office Room Dining Room Front Door and into the Family Room Christmas village Side Door Hanger (Mr. Bingle)  Snoopy was supposed to be the front door hanger, but I liked him so much he stayed in the office. We had an early Christmas gift exchange with my parents this year.  Lots of goodies.... Necklace I made for Mom Cute measuring spoons with Fleur de Lis on them And lots of laughter.. we bought the "Laughing Dog" for my parents.  We were hoping they would laugh; we weren't disappointed!  (To see more Christmas decoration pictures on my Picasa site, Click Here and scroll to the bottom.) La Madeline's

Image
Most of the time Greg and I enjoy breakfast at  Cafe Latte Da, but if we get up really early on Sunday and Cafe Latte Da isn't open yet, we go to La Madeline's. We noticed one particular waitress who works there and every time we see her, she has such a cheerful attitude.  She's so happy that you have to smile too!  Her name is Faye and she is quick to set up a table and have everything ready. At one point, Greg asked if they only used red bell peppers or if they have green peppers.  Faye said, "Come to think of it, we only use red bell peppers."  Greg explained that I couldn't eat the red ones and she asked me why. It's hard to explain.... but the red ones must be more ... something... because they actually upset my stomach.  Greg was quick to add, "She's pregnant.  In her third trimester."  From there the conversation went to pregnancy and how we were told we wouldn't be able to have children, etc.  Faye was so funny and talked ab...

Family Tradition

Image
One family tradition that we have is to go to Greg's parents' home for a tree trimming and decoration party.  His parents pick out the tree and then call the family members to see who can come over to decorate. Last year and this year, I was the "outside girl" with Madelyn (Greg's younger sister).  Red Christmas bows go around the front door, four wreaths adorn the window shutters, the mailbox gets a little extra Christmas cloth and the new little tree gentle hangs red and gold balls.  (They used to have a big tree in the front yard, but the last hurricane took that out.) While Madelyn and I worked on the outside, my mother-in-law and father-in-law worked with Greg, Jerry, Bonnie, Greg and Casey to decorate the Christmas tree and put up all the Christmas decorations inside.   (Bonnie has the tradition of putting the angel on top - when she was 7 years old she put the angel on top of the tree and fell into the tree... so it's a tradition now, not falling in...

Third Trimester

We just started the third trimester and baby Gregory decided to celebrate by waking up at midnight and staying awake the rest of the night.  I've been told that whatever "movement schedule" the baby has in the womb, most likely will be the case when born. Oh boy, we're going to have a night owl!
