Going to the Park

The weather is finally nice enough to go to the park during the day!  We are very fortunate to live so close to a large park.  The park location actually used to be a racetrack.  The park built a manmade pond that goes around the entire park, so no matter where you are, you can access the pond.  They have a 2 mile walking area, a carousal, a toddler playground, a children's playground, a dog park, and birds galore!  From ducks and Mexican ducks, swans and geese, pigeons and yes, even roosters.  Bunnies have been spotted as well many times...

We brought Gregory to the park when he was a newborn, but after that, it was too hot during the summer months to take him there.

This time, we went with Oma and Opa to the park and fed the ducks.  I made sure to drop bread fairly close to the stroller so the brave Mexican ducks would come closer.  Gregory squealed a number of times in delight!

What you don't see in the pictures is that the person taking the picture is holding my parents' dog, Biscuit.  She is an itsy bitsy dog...  there wasn't a bird at the park that was smaller than Biscuit.  But Biscuit has a Napoleon complex and was ready to attack.  So, she had to be kept at a distance in order for the birds to come close for the feeding.

Below is when we left - those geese - are SO aggressive.  I thought one was going to go after Gregory's toes!  Time to leave.  But otherwise, the birds were great and we had a lot of fun :)

I love the sweet little smile on his face in the stroller!

I'm afraid of those geese--they can be pretty bad. Have ya'll ever gone to the bird sanctuary there?

That park looks great.

I gather it is still fairly warm that far south. Going to the park is doable here but we would be dressed with layers at this point.

So cute...Gregory with the ducks. I, too would be nervous if they came too close.
