Passion

Ohhhh, I'm passionate about these flowers!!  It's a vine.  It's great to grow in Louisiana.  It doesn't matter if the soil is good or not, just give it room and let it go.  It goes by "Maypop" too, because it can produce a fruit that "pops" when it's stepped on.... and I've also read that the fruit leaves seeds so the next year, you don't know where the little sucker (vine) will grow.  It moves based on where the seeds land.  What fun!

But look at this!  Passion Flowers...

Here are the buds......
The above is why I saw in the morning...

Later in the day, I went back to the vine and ...   B A M !!!

LOVE IT!

I like the purple vine so much!  But the red blooms are really pretty too!  I have a purple and red vine next to each other and I hope they mingle :)

Guess who else likes the vines???  Within seconds of planting the vines - a butterfly!!

You might think the next picture is a little strange to share.  I have two different sized trellises for the two vines to grow on.  The small trellis has small holes and I thought, "Hmm, no way will the vine get between the holes to grow.  They are too small and will strip away the leaves."  BUT... if you look closely, this vine is a smarty!  He has this cool thin wisps of vine that curl around!  The vine can secure itself around the small trellis by way of the tiny curly twirls, which is more of a side product than the main vine.  I have high hopes for these vines!
